Cleaning up the town

The ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake & District Chamber of Commerce organized a Pitch-In Day in efforts to help clean up the town. The Pitch-In Day sponsors were: Lakes District Maintenance - Service Area #24 , Village of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake, Lakeside Multiplex, Woods N’ Water and RBC. Over 23 people took part. ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake citizens of the year

Guy Epkens-Schaffer is this year’s recipient of the 2022 Bill Konkin Citizen of the Year. He was given this award because of many reasons, some include that he is a key volunteer for several community groups. He helped the Lakes District Festival of the Performing Arts helping plan and execute honours night, setting up the venue, and driving adjudicators.

The ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Coffee House had another evening of great music. The events have been well attended and have been going since the beginning of the year. Federal investment bolsters ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake firefighting capabilities

The Village of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake has received a boost to its firefighting capabilities with the Federal Government’s Strategic Priorities Fund stream of the Canada Community-Building Fund. The federal investment, announced on April 17, of over $103.5 million will support 45 community infrastructure projects across the province. Among these projects is the replacement of the village’s outdated fire hall, a long-awaited upgrade that has been in the works for years.

The ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Floaters went down to Banff for a weekend tournament on April 14-16. They played three round robin games and one playoff game. They won their final game 3-0 against Beaumont, AB.
