A quilt and art show was held at the Francois Lake Hall and St. Luke’s Church on the Lake on Oct. 21. The show, which was sponsored by Yarn and Sew On, featured door prizes and a special guest from Summerland - ‘quilter on fire’ Brandy Maslowski.

As the Silver Screen Scoundrels, Brandon Isaak and Keith Picot put on an entertaining show to ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake residents last week, combining music, silent films and comedy. This was the second performance in the Lakes District Arts Council’s 2017/18 season.

Quilt and Art Show at Francois Lake

A Smithers-based group called the Valley Youth Fiddlers delivered a powerful performance in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake last Sunday. Featuring dozens of young fiddlers accompanied by family and community members playing backup on instruments from accordion to drums, they presented Alaria’s Fiddle - a full-length musical theatre performance about a young girl who lives with her mother on an isolated lighthouse on the west coast of Canada.

The Lakes District Arts Council’s twelfth season is off to a great start. Legendary guitarist and singer Stephen Fearing - along with Gary Craig on drums and John Dymond on bass - delivered a memorable performance to ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake residents last week.
