The Fall Slammer Ball Tournament, a slo-pitch tournament, was held in 亚洲天堂 Lake earlier this month. Balls Deep was the winner, with Grassy Bay from Prince Rupert placing second and One Hit Wonders placing third.

亚洲天堂 Lake residents brought home 10 medals from the 55 plus Games held in Vernon on Sept. 12-16. Athlete Sandra Barth said the event was 鈥渁 great time and the weather was very good with only a bit of smoke.鈥� Randy Miller won silver (golf); John Barth won gold, silver and bronze (track & field); Sandra Barth brought home two gold and two bronze medals (track & field); Karen Ritchey received gold (equestrian); and Paul and Doris Jean got bronze (crib).

The 亚洲天堂 lake Saddle Club held a successful light horse show during the 2017 Lakes District Fall Fair. The event was held in the fairgrounds鈥� lower arena on Sept. 9, 2017.

BC Sports Hall of Fame seeking nominations for 2018 induction class

Morris Williams Elementary students and three members of the 亚洲天堂 Lake RCMP gathered at Spirit Square last Friday for the school鈥檚 Terry Fox run. The run/walk lasted 22 and a half minutes, representing each year of Terry Fox鈥檚 life.

The Tweedsmuir Recreation Commission hosted another successful Ootsa Lake Fishing Derby earlier this month. Here are the winners: 1st Pauline Redwood - 10.910 lbs; 2nd Jenny McKee - 10.120 lbs; 3rd Christian Lobermayer - 10.080 lbs; 4th Sean Baumann - 9.840 lbs. Other winners included Rob Law, who won a trip to Pondosy; Don Zimmer, who won a kayak; Patrick Pelletier, who won a pressure washer; and Willow Fehr, who won a 40-inch TV.

Team roping is one of the most popular activities of the annual Lakes District Fall Fair, which was held on Sept. 8-10, 2017.

亚洲天堂 Lake seniors are getting ready for the 55+ B.C. Games, an annual multi-sport competition celebrating active and healthy seniors. Most of the 13 local participants gathered last week to invite others to the event, which will be held in Vernon on Sept. 12-16, 2017.
