The Lakes District Secondary School (LDSS) Lakers boys rugby team took advantage of an opportunity to attend the BC Secondary Schools Rugby Union Tier II Sevens Championship Tournament at Brentwood College in Mill Bay on Vancouver Island. The team made the long journey by bus, arriving to begin the competition on June 8. While there are not necessarily play downs to enter this competition, the Lakers were up against some of the best teams from secondary schools from all regions of BC.

The local biking team gathered at Kager Lake trail. Riders shuttled up the hill with their bikes to enjoy an enduring journey down. On June 2 the team travelled to Prince George for a northern zone seven player a side tournament with three teams from Prince George(Duchess Park, PGSS and Vixens 1 and 2 Highlanders 1 and 2 club teams), and teams from Williams Lake and Dawson Creek. The girlsstarted the day with a great performance in a 17-10 win over the Prince George Vixens team. In the second game the girls scored thesame number of tries as Dawson Creek, but came away one conversion short in a narrow 17-15 loss.
