Group requested to peform their song ‘Worthy’ during New Westminster event

Students and staff at Fraser Lake Elementary Secondary School (FLESS) on Jan. 24 ate breakfast cooked by RCMP officers from the local detachment. The culinary events with the police happen on the second and fourth Thursday of each month during the school year, and are in addition to the more than 100 daily breakfasts that the school serves.

Forty-four students in Grades 11 and 12 from Lakes District Secondary School attended an open house at the College of New Caledonia (CNC) on Feb. 21 to experience the Direct Digital Instruction (DDI) system. The national flag at the College of New Caledonia in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake flies at half mast on Feb. 22 to honour the life of Berenice Haggarty, who passed away recently. Haggarty’s efforts saw the establishment of the Lakes District campus of the College of New Caledonia in 1976, a time when there were few opportunities for post-secondary education in northern British Columbia. She was one of the original members of the Regional College Committee that formed in 1963.

Diners enjoy lunch inside Immaculata church on Feb. 5. The event was organized by the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake and District Seniors Society. Most lunch-goers are 50+ but guests are welcome.
