Leading through the summer

They are working at the multiplex for the summer with the Leaders in Training and Camp Phoenix programs. In September Courtney will start her second year of her Bachelor of Education at Trinity Western University in Langley and Alora will start her first year of a Bachelor of Anthropology at the University of Northern British Columbia.

Curly Temple Hair Salon celebrated on June 25 the retirement of hairdresser Joyce McCreery, who worked at the salon for 26 years. The ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake resident has worked as a hairdresser for 43 years in total. Her last day of work was June 27. (Blair McBride photo)

More problem bears this year, official says

Over the course of June, more ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake residents reported seeing bears roaming in the area, some of whom had little apparent fear of humans.

Along with the arrival of summer comes students working at the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake and District Chamber of Commerce for the season. A solid job

A solid job

Village of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake work crews put up fences around fresh stamped concrete on June 20. The fences were taken down shortly after. The grassy plots that used to be there were taken out and they were filled with concrete because the grass wasn’t surviving, as a village spokesperson told Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà .
