A day of fun at Omineca Ski Club

The Omineca Ski Club held their skills development program for kids on Feb. 27, attended by special friends Bon Homme, ÑÇÖÞÌìÌÃie from the Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà and the Omineca Sasquatch. The fun-filled day featured several activities including sprint races, an obstacle course, freeze tag and snow soccer. One of these things are not like the other, that’s for sure. Southside resident Hayley Neislon has two moose that have been eating along side her horses. The annual winter carnival at William Konkin Elementary was held on March 4, featuring a full day of activities. Things got going with a pancake breakfast, with help in the kitchen from the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. Next up, the students had a choice to go swimming in Vanderhoof, snowshoeing and sledding near the school, or curling and ice skating at the Lakeside Multiplex.
