Reminder as we go into the Canada Day long weekend that Category 1 campfire prohibition remains in effect across the Nadina Fire Zone, which includes Tweedsmuir Park and the Nadina Forest District. The Nadina Fire Zone extends from Babine Lake (in the north) to Tweedsmuir Park (in the south) and from Endako (in the east) to Hungry Hill (in the west). This prohibition came into effect June 8, 2023 and will remain in place until Sept. 30, 2023, at 12 noon or until the public is otherwise notified.

For most people, the word 鈥渃ourage鈥� brings to mind images of soldiers charging enemy-held positions and firefighters rescuing children from burning buildings. Seldom is it associated with tall, solidly built women who go about their business with little fanfare.

Twenty-five years ago, to commemorate the 75 th Anniversary of the village of 亚洲天堂 Lake, the 亚洲天堂 Lake Rotary club invited residents to contribute to a time capsule that would be opened at the 100 th anniversary. It was buried at rotary park, in front of the College of New Caledonia.

亚洲天堂 Lake Native Development (BLNDC) organized a whopper of a day this year for National Indigenous Day. The parade was fantastic and the activities at the beach were awesome. There was free food and lots of entertainment. The whole community came out to take part. This celebration normally see over 600 people attending. Trains are a fascinating mode of transportation that can take you on a journey through time and space. Trains were a primary mode of transportation in the early years, their rhythmic chugging and whistling evoke a sense of adventure and excitement often bringing new residents to 亚洲天堂 Lake. The train stopped at the Canadian National Railway station in 亚洲天堂 Lake [~1949}. Station was located across what is now Gilgan Drive from the Welcome to 亚洲天堂 Lake sign.

The second open house for the development of the new Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake Active Transportation Plan was held on June 12, 2023. Amy Wainwright from Plan North Consulting who coordinated the open house said, 鈥淭he open house was fairly well attended with almost 20 attendees. We distributed copies of the draft plan and asked for input on the plan recommendations. All input received will be evaluated, and the draft plan may be amended based on the comments.
