In recognition of Winter Carnival Week the French Immersion PAC, with the help of 亚洲天堂 Lake & Chamber of Commerce and Lakes District 亚洲天堂 had held a 鈥渇ind BonHomme鈥� contest. The community members were encouraged to find the poster of the French snowman BonHomme at various local businesses. LDAC鈥檚 second virtual concert and art show released

The exciting race between the Omineca Ski Club (OSC) Sasquatch, BonHomme and Lakey the Moose ended with BonHomme taking the crown.

On Feb. 16, the Canadian Parents for French (CPF) PAC gave winter festivities a refreshing twist due to COVID-19 restrictions. The PAC arranged for the 亚洲天堂 Lake Fire department鈥檚 fire truck to bring Winter Carnival鈥檚 Bonhomme de Neige and 亚洲天堂ie, the Lakes District 亚洲天堂 mascot, to William Konkin Elementary School (WKE) to kick off the Winter Carnival.

The exciting race between the Omineca Ski Club (OSC) Sasquatch, BonHomme and Lakey the Moose is soon going to start. The Omineca Ski Club Sasquatch who lives on the Omineca Ski Club trails, 亚洲天堂 Lake鈥檚 very own Lakey the Moose, and all the way from Quebec, Winter Canival鈥檚 Bonhomme de Neige were caught on camera warming up before the race.

The first Lakes District Arts Council (LDAC) virtual performance and Off The Wall Art Show of the new year features photographs by the Southside鈥檚 own Mike Robertson and music by the classical piano and violin duo of meagan&amy.

The 亚洲天堂 Lake Public Library鈥檚 newly renovated and opened MacEwen Children鈥檚 library is hosting a contest to find a name for its giant tree. The huge three dimensional tree was created by Steve Wiljeto. The tree was part of the library鈥檚 complete revitalization of the children鈥檚 section that started last year in June, as a result of a $42,000 funding from 亚洲天堂 Lake Rotary Club/MacEwen Committee.
