Potholes have doubled over the last week in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake after the nonstop rains. The village will soon start working on numerous patching projects throughout the avenues according the village Chief Administrative Officer, Sheryl Worthing. Work on the 2021 paving projects will also commence this summer. According to Worthing, the 2021 paving program will be Third Ave from Center Street to Kerr Street and First Ave from just above Center Street to Carroll Street.

First Nations from in and around ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake, along with several members of the community gathered outside the local courthouse in solidarity with the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation and to show respect, after 215 bodies of Indigenous children were discovered buried on the grounds of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School last week on Thursday. Over the weekend, people began placing shoes on the courthouse steps to honor the 215 children.
