Students at Francois Lake Elementary enjoyed a free lunch on March 16, prepared and served by Pub N’ Tandoori Grill staff. This is the last school in the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake area to receive a free lunch compliments of the restaurant. Introducing Indian cuisine is a passion of Pub N’ Tandoori owner Babbi Singh. The restaurant has made lunch for Decker Lake Elementary, William Konkin, Grassy Plains and Lakes District Secondary School students.

It was a full day of fun at the Omineca Ski Club on March 13, as the club hosted the 2022 Loppet race. It was the first open event and social with a meal served in two years since the pandemic hit. There were about 30 racers total, and the race included a 2.5 km, 5 km and 10 km track which participants got to choose from. Also included in the festivities was a mascot race. The Village of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake is showing their support for Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia. Staff purchase a Ukraine flag, which can be seen flying in front of the village office building. It was Aboriginal history and sharing week at the College of New Caledonia ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake campus, featuring a full five-day slate of events including a performance by the Louie Traditional Singers. This event took place on March 16, and included a free lunch for attendees as well as an art and history display. Another event that took place during the week was a presentation on Cheslatta Carrier Nation by Chief Corrina Leween and senior policy advisor Mike Robertson.
