In 1960, snow removal was a creative task that required ingenuity and resourcefulness. People used a variety of tools and techniques, from shovels and brooms to horse-drawn plows and snow blowers. Some even used hot water to melt the snow on their driveways and sidewalks! It was a challenging but rewarding experience, as the satisfaction of a clear path through the snow was well worth the effort. Sidewalk plow tractor visible.

Grassy Plains School celebrates Indigenous Day

Grassy Plains School celebrated Indigenous Day on June 16. Cheslatta Carrier Nation Strong Start organized the day with Carrier Sekani Family Services. Chief Corrina Leween and Cheslatta elders Eva Peters and John Casimel spent time talking with the students. Chantal Reid, head start manager was on hand teaching students how to make bannock, play Lahal, mini drum making and they also did a grand entrance dance. Donations from the heart

Board members of the Nechako Kitamaat Development Fund Society and the 亚洲天堂 Lake and District Healthcare Auxiliary, visited the 亚洲天堂 Lake Public Library 颅颅on May 11. The two organizations provided the generous funding needed for the purchase of an automated external defibrillator (AED) that was recently installed at the library.
