The event coincided with the 150th anniversary of Canada’s confederation, and was supported by the Lakes District Arts Council and the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake and District Chamber of Commerce. A panel of judges awarded ‘best in show’ to Renata Hussinger’s painting ‘My Canada,’ which included the artist’s personal memories and favourite scenes from her 27 years in Canada. Second place in the show was awarded to Bernice Nicholas, and third place to Leonard Matte. Liana Robinson’s painting ‘Sunset Reflections’ was voted ‘the people’s choice’ by visitors to the show. The ‘My Canada’ art show is open all summer long at the Heritage Centre.
