Customers of the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Recycling Depot have shown their love for the critters by donating their deposits to the Lakes Animal Friendship Society (LAFS). About $675 was collected this past year, representing the deposits from over 13,000 soda cans. The donations were topped up to $800 by the Recycling Depot. Local residents know that summer is officially over when Village of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake crew remove the dock at Radley Beach. Let the fall season begin.

ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake’s 37th annual Terry Fox run raised over $12,200 for cancer research. The event was held at the Francois Lake Hall and included live entertainment, a silent auction featuring donated items, fresh baking and a fresh vegetable harvest auction.

Sullivan Motor Products (SMP) in Houston has recently lent a pickup truck to The Postmen - a disaster relief initiative that has been expanded to northern B.C. by two ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake residents - to take donations to the Cariboo region. Local resident Nicholas Shively had a great day at the lake catching sockeye salmon. The largest one he caught was six pounds.

The 2017 Lakes District Fall Fair had something for everyone. Artisans, small animal exhibits, heavy horse pull, bumper ball fighting, stock dog competition, helicopter rides, logger sports, exhibit hall, team roping, children’s festival, livestock show and a music festival were some of this year’s attractions. Although the forecast was rain over the weekend, the sky was clear for most of the fair. There was still a lot of activity on Sunday even with the rain.

Local children showcased their art skills during the ‘everyday theme camp,’ the last summer camp of the season in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake. The summer camps were held in July and August with a different theme each week for children seven to 12 years old.
