Ferris Bueller stars lead crowd in Vancouver Canadians 7th-inning stretch

Bueller...? Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck sing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame'

Life moves pretty fast, but for some baseball fans, they couldn't be missing the stars of a 1980s classic leading the Vancouver Canadians' seventh-inning stretch over the weekend.

Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck, two of the stars from the 1986 classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off, were at the Vancouver Canadians' game at Nat Bailey Stadium on Saturday (Aug. 23) and led the crowd in singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."

The two were possibly playing hooky from filming their new movie, The Best is Yet to Come, in B.C. The movie is a remake of a 2019 French film about two friends who have a misunderstanding.

It's their first film together in nearly 40 years since Ferris Bueller's Day Off was released in 1986 where Broderick and Ruck play Ferris Bueller and Cameron Frye, respectively. The two, and Bueller's girlfriend Sloane, famously skip school for the day in Chicago, visiting the Art Institute of Chicago, joining a parade and attending a Chicago Cubs baseball game.
