While I am a fairly new addition to the 亚洲天堂 Lake community, I've never felt so proud and or more at home.
The community Easter egg hunt that took place last weekend at Spirit Square Park was an 'egg-cellent' event -- one that wouldn't have been possible without the donations, volunteers and all the people who came out to participate.
Overall, around 20 people and local businesses donated items such as chocolate and other goodies for the hunt, toys for prizes, giveaways, printing services, ad space in the newspaper -- some people even donated funds.
In total, we had just under 4000 items for the actual hunt, which was divided into three age categories and put into different areas so that each group had well over 1,000 goodies to go searching for.
And of course, the event wouldn't have been possible without all of the dedicated volunteers who came out to lend a helping hand --this included a handful of youth from the high school.
Volunteers helped out with setup, take down, helping out at the colouring station, face painting and helping to facilitate the egg hunt for the three different age groups. It was because of their hard work that the event was a success.
Seeing all of the little kids, we had around 75 in total having a hoppin' good time was the icing on the cake. So many parents told me afterwards that their kids had a ton of fun and that they'll be back next year.
All in all, I'd say our first annual Easter Egg Hunt was a success, and I couldn't have done it without all of your support! Let's do it again next spring -- just bigger and better!
