Yet another two staff positions within the Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake have become vacant over the past week, for a total of three village staff positions now vacant in just one month.

Recently new recreation director Dan Deschamps handed in his resignation to the Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake after just five months on the job.

As reported in Lakes District 亚洲天堂 edition of Dec. 15, 2010 Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake chief administrative officer Tim Palmer said Deschamps resignation was due to family reasons.

The latest two employee positions to become vacant are the chief administrative officer position held by Tim Palmer and the director of engineering position held by long time village employee Paul Carver.

Carver had just recently returned to work after a period of extended time off for personal reasons and was present at the council table during the December 2010 budget talks.

鈥淭he director of engineering has left employment with the Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake,鈥� said Palmer.

Carver confirmed his resignation to Lakes District 亚洲天堂 last week saying that he left the job for personal reasons.

Lakes District 亚洲天堂 also asked if the director of engineering position was to be advertised and filled again in the near future to which Palmer responded, 鈥淭he vacancy is under review.鈥�

Then, late last week Palmer also announced his resignation via a letter which was addressed to council.

鈥淚 have accepted the chief administrative position in Revelstoke,  this is a great opportunity that I am very excited about,鈥� he wrote.

In his letter Palmer also said, 鈥淎s a council, you have collectively demonstrated a willingness to lead the community, even when the decisions were difficult and not popular.  Individually your passion for the best for the community has been evident,鈥� Palmer wrote.

He went on to say, 鈥溠侵尢焯� Lake is fortunate to have such talented and dedicated staff in the office, public works and the arena.鈥�

  鈥淚 encourage you to continue to recognize their commitment and passion for the community. I will especially miss them when I leave,鈥� he added.

Palmer starts his chief administrative officer position with the City of Revelstoke effective Feb. 28, 2011.
