The Wet'suwet'en First Nation, formerly known as Broman Lake Band, elected new councillors with results being announced May 30, 2025.

The Wet'suwet'en First Nation, formerly known as Broman Lake Band, has elected new councillors.

Ruby Ogen and Sharon Turner were elected to the two councillor positions May 30. Maureen Luggi won the race for chief by acclimation.

Ogen received 53 votes and Turner received 64, coming in ahead of opponents Sterling Sampson, who received 51 votes, and Karen Ogen who received 39 votes.

The swearing-in ceremony was held on May 31 at the Wet'suwet'en First Nation administration office.
