Morgan MacDonald donated her birthday money to Increased ACCESS, formly Lakes Animal Friendship Society. She asked that her donation of $140 be used "To help families who cannot afford vet care for their pets." In 2024, 72 Lakes District dogs and cats and their low-income families were helped through the SpayAid program. The families pay $50 per pet, and donations cover the balance of the bill which is discounted by the generous vets who participate in the program. "The community has more and more large dogs, which are very costly to spay and neuter." says society director Alistair Schroff. "Costs are up, and donations are way down. We are so grateful to donors like Morgan, who has also been a wonderful volunteer at our clinics.鈥 If you would like to make an donation please visit lakesanimalfriendship.ca/donate
