Houston RCMP are looking for Michael Randolf Kowalchuk, 56, who is missing. His last known address was in Granisle. He is seen here in an RCMP handout photo.

RCMP are searching for a missing man whose last known address was in Granisle.

Michael Randolf Kowalchuk, 56, has not had contact with his family in over a year, according to an RCMP press release. Kowalchuk's family contacted Kitimat RCMP June 26 for help locating him after they didn't hear from him on Father's Day, which was unusual, according to the press release.

Kitimat RCMP investigated and found that Kowalchuk had not lived at his known Kitimat address in five years. They believed his last known address to be in Granisle.

Houston RCMP then investigated and found no sign of Kowalchuk in Granisle. They followed up on a lead that he may be working in Manitoba, but it didn't produce any solid information, either.

Kowalchuk is described as a Caucasian male approximately 183 cm (6 ft) tall and approximately 88 kg (194 lbs) with long blonde hair (usually worn in a ponytail), a short goatee, and blue eyes. RCMP believe Kowalchuk is driving a white 2003 Cadillac Escalade, BC license plate VJ2 97C, with no insurance.

Police are asking anyone with information on this matter to contact Houston RCMP at (250) 561-3300.

Houston Today has contected the RCMP for further information.
