National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People recognized on May 5

Carrier Sekani Family Services held a small event on May 5 at 11 am for the Red Dress Day. It takes place annually on May 5, the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People. It dates back 15 years and was inspired by a public art installation in Winnipeg by Metis artist Jaime Black. The red dresses were displayed to represent MMIWG.
