BC Wildfire Service is responding to a fire near South Hazelton Creek.
As of July 31, it is estimated to be four hectacres in size and is classified as out of control. Any growth observed has been to the north.
Airtankers are onsite, their objective is to box the fire in with retardant.
The fire is burning in slash, which is producing a large amount of smoke. The objective is to keep the fire from spreading to the surrounding timber.
No structures or communities are immediately threatened.
It is suspected to be human-caused.
