Individuals hoping to win a one year pass to movies at the Beacon Theatre have only one day to qualify.
A spokesman for the Lakes District Film Society, the non profit organization that purchased the Beacon Theatre in August, said that the society will select a lucky winner of its one year free movie pass at the March 31, 2011 showing of the film Rango.
鈥淎nyone hoping to get in on our draw for free admission to movies at the Beacon for one year has until 8:45 p.m. on March 31,鈥 said film society president Michael Riis-Christianson.
鈥淨ualifying is easy: Just adopt a seat at the Beacon theatre for $100. The proceeds of this fund raising drive will be used to pay off our digital projector loan so that we can continue to offer local residents access to the latest releases from Hollywood.鈥
Riis-Christianson thanked all those businesses and residents who have supported the society鈥檚 Adopt-A-Seat Campaign to date.
鈥淎t last count, more than 70 businesses and individuals had adopted seats at the Beacon Theatre in the past six weeks,鈥 he said. 鈥淪upport from the community has been tremendous.鈥
While the film society鈥檚 draw for a one-year free pass to the Beacon will be held March 31, the society鈥檚 Adopt-A-Seat Digital Projector fund raising campaign will continue until at least April 30. Other draws are planned.
鈥淲e鈥檝e still got to raise another $18,000 raise if we hope to pay off our loan before midsummer,鈥 he noted. 鈥淲e鈥檙e hoping those who haven鈥檛 participated do date will do so before the end of April.鈥
Complete details of the campaign are available in the Lakes District 亚洲天堂 and on the society鈥檚 website, www.beacontheatre.ca.
Individuals can drop their contributions off at either the 亚洲天堂 Lake Public Library, Process 4 circle arts Gallery, or the Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake.
