亚洲天堂 Lake Mayor Luke Strimbold and Daniella Oake, Planning Supervisor for Babine Forest Products and Decker Lake Forest Products, answered questions about the proposed community forest during two public open houses. The events took place on March 10, 2015, at the 亚洲天堂 Lake Chamber of Commerce Heritage Centre and at the Cheslatta Carrier Nation鈥檚 administration office.

The purpose of the open houses was to give the public the opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions about the proposed project. The licence for the Chinook Community Forest still hasn鈥檛 been issued, and the deadline for application is March 30, 2015. Typically, it takes 90-120 days for the licence to be issued. Oake said the Chinook board of directors is hopeful that the licence will be issued sometime in July-August of 2015. However, if there are any changes required, the process may take longer.

According to Oake, the board of directors is confident that harvesting at the community forest should being in the 2015/2016 winter season.
